Empowering the Youth of Trinity County to forge their own pathways into the future. 2024 Accomplishments Trinity Together through K-16 grants provided food and lodging for students to attend the Wilderness First Aid Class in spring, which was paid for by Bigfoot Trail Alliance. Students learned critical medical skills to be applied in a wilderness setting. 110 Juniors and Seniors from every high school in the county and 40 adult jobseekers attended the College and Career Expo in May. 50 colleges and businesses set up booths in Lowden Park. Here, the students are listening to local engineer Wes Scribner discuss his non-linear pathway to success. This expo was made possible with support from Health and Human Services and the SMART Workforce Center. Students at summer camps held in Hayfork and Weaverville learned about planetary geology and rocket engineering via funding from the Glasgow Smith Klein Science in the Summer Program in collaboration with the Franklin Institute and Siskiyou Works. 75 TK-12 students from Southern Trinity learned about various medical careers by exploring anatomical models, examining blood cells under a microscope, and watching their heart rate increase after rigorous stair-stepping exercise. Trinity Together hosted an EMS/Fire Career roundtable at the Trinity County Office of Education. Twenty-nine people attended, including students from Hayfork, Trinity, and Southern Trinity High Schools. Six professionals spoke about their experiences and passions motivating their continued dedication to their careers. We build relationships between schools, student-led groups, and nonprofit organizations to cultivate the next generation of workers in all fields. Our Mission Trinity Together is fiscally sponsored by the Watershed Research and Training Center, which helps us serve Trinity County youth! Help us enable our young people to solve and navigate the challenges of our time.
